Raised Ranch Primary Bath Refresh | Part II

You can read the first blog post on this project here. Because the layout of this bathroom remained the same, and we really only made small changes to make the shower function better, the design improvements and style really came from the finish selections.

The tile came first - we went with natural stone, all marble. The floor is a beautiful grey/green strie marble herringbone tile that we repeated in a picture frame molding on the back wall of the shower. The rest of the shower walls are in a ribbed white marble to give some height and dimension to the space. Lastly, the shower floor is a natural pebble tile.

These clients preferred brushed nickel, and we loved how it played against the green and white. The shower suite and the rest of the plumbing and hardware is all from Kohler, as is the toilet. The vanity has a headboard front that echoes the vertical ribbing on the shower tile and is painted a darker green for contrast. Rather than going with a marble vanity top, we decided to go with Caesarstone for cost, durability, and to bring in the bright white to keep the look fresh. Linens played agains that crisp white and sage aesthetic.

Lastly, art was brought into the space, however we kept it monochromatic. The oversized landscape that sits across from the shower door adds dimension and the small botanical print that is on the shelf above the toilet is in keeping with the natural elements and provides a decorative layered look in the view seen from the bedroom.
