My 2 Top Lighting Tips

These are two things I recommend to every client, in every project. Ready to find out what they are? Here we go!

  1. Put everything on dimmers

Ceiling lights, sconces, recessed lights! You can even purchase dimmer adapters for your floor and table lamps if you so desire! Why dimmers? Sometimes you need the overhead lights on full illumination - cleaning, cooking, certain tasks and occasions call for having the maximum wattage. However, its fabulous to have the option to dim things down for ambiance if you’re entertaining or just beginning or winding down your day.

  2. 2700K warmth

Many bulbs have a descriptor on the front such as daylight or warm light, however if you look further at the box or label you should find a number labeling how warm the glow is. 2700 is a great warmth for interior lighting that’s not too warm or too cool. Knowing this number can also help you buy the same warmth for all of your bulbs or LED lights so all of your lights throughout the home cast the same light and have the same warmth. This will also ensure when you start bringing in paint samples and other finishes in, you’ll have continuity with how it looks as you’ll always have the same lighting.
