Contrast Trim | How To Pull It Off
Contrast painted trim is a look that I personally love. While it may be “trending” now, it’s not a new trend at all, as moldings in colonial homes have been painted in a variety of hues since the period began.
Do you need to live in an older home or Colonial style home to pull this look off? Absolutely not! Nor do you need to decorate in a vintage style. The look of painted trim can be adapted to any decor style.
Traditionally, the look has been with muted, historical colors on the molding, and white or off-white walls. Now, that look is still popular, and can be pulled off with wall colors other than white or off white. Neutrals that work in tone with the color of the trim are all great options as wall colors. Another fabulous option is to do the walls in a lighter tint of the trim color.
My absolute favorite look is wallpapering the walls and pulling a color from the wallpaper as your trim color. You can go as subtle or dramatic with this as you please!
